Abstract: The essay looks to analyse a relevant aspect of Ricoeur’s thought in the elaboration of his philosophy and in the determination of a radically human responsibility: the conatus that the philosopher openly takes from the Ethics of Spinoza. In particular, Ricoeur included the ethics of Spinoza in its hermeneutical phenomenology through a dialogue on the ethical and ontological implications of the action of the subject, especially the ethical subject in its vital dynamism, in relation to different forms of the other.
